Design Challenge: Rumpke Waste and Recycling, an 87-year-old family-owned firm, has close ties to Colerain Township. They needed to combine seven outdated and inefficient facilities into one modern headquarters. Rumpke aimed to keep jobs in Colerain Township and help the township grow and thrive.

Design Solution: Rumpke chose a site across from their Colerain landfill to build their new headquarters. This site also offered 52 acres for future growth. MSP designed a modern building with a classic “brick and mortar” look, based on Rumpke’s business practices. The final design features a 3-story building with advanced technologies and a cozy, homelike feel. The exterior has unique landscaping, a large back patio, and outdoor dining and gathering areas.

Design Outcome: This new facility allows Rumpke’s staff to work in a modern and innovative space. MSP also created a plan for a light industrial park on the remaining 52 acres to attract future businesses.
