Design Challenge: Rumpke Waste and Recycling is an 87 year old family owned firm with close ties to Colerain Township. Faced with the need to consolidate seven outdated and inefficient facilities, Rumpke knew it needed to build a modern headquarters to house its operations. The company was also strongly committed to not only retaining jobs in Colerain Township, but helping the township grow and flourish.

Design Solution: The site across from its Colerain landfill allowed for Rumpke to build its centerpiece headquarters with an additonal 52 acres of development. Guided by the company’s wish for a modern building with a traditional “brick and mortar” look, MSP carefully studied Rumpke’s established business practices. The final design is a 3-story building that incorporates cutting edge techologies with a comfortable homelike environment. The exterior includes unique landscaping with a spacious back patio and additional outdoor dining and gathering spaces.

Design Outcome: This state-of-the-art facility allows Rumpke’s operations staff to work in an a modern, innovative facility in a collaborative environment. For the remaining 52 acres on the site, MSP designed a master plan for a light industrial park to attract future users to the site.
