Design Solution: With input from the township, MSP Design conducted a needs assessment for Kingswood Park. This assessment determined the new playground elements and outdoor structures. We carefully considered fitness and play equipment for a range of ages. Seating and shade structures were also taken into account. We created multiple concepts and presented them to the Deerfield township trustees. After gathering feedback from trustees and the community, we approved a final concept and developed the construction plans.

Design Outcome: By late 2022, we completed the transformation of Kingswood Park into a signature park in Deerfield Township. Now, the park features a welcoming entryway that showcases both outdoor and indoor amenities. Visitors can enjoy walking trails, seating areas, a pergola, and bike racks. Furthermore, a newly added covered shelter enhances the park’s offerings. The park is designed to encourage both active and passive use. Additionally, the playground, designed in collaboration with Landscape Structures Inc/Penchura LLC, includes a unique “ninja fitness course” for older children and adults. Therefore, Kingswood Park playground has become a premier destination for the community.
