Bishop’s Quarter Renovation

Design Challenge: The Bishop’s Quarter & The Suites at Bishop was nearly destroyed by fire in 2017. MSP worked with Conger Construction to restore and renovate the three story 9,600 SF building while incorporating new concepts from the building’s owners.

Design Solution: MSP prepared plans and renderings to incorporate the owner’s new vision while still preserving the historic aesthetic and character. The renovation included a first floor 3,600 SF coffee shop, restaurant, new elevator and stairs; a second floor 3,600 SF wine bar, balcony and B&B hotel units with common balcony area; and a third floor roof top bar and balcony and streetscape design. The new streetscape design features an inviting outdoor area with an additional 2,000 SF of seating for dining and bar patrons.

Design Outcome: Bishop’s Quarter restaurant reopened in the fall of 2018 and has quickly become a favorite destination in Loveland. The restaurant’s wrought iron balconies, reclaimed wood floors, and two vintage wooden bars evoke a ‘French Quarter’ influence, which we carry through to the Southern comfort food menu. In addition, an outdoor area and streetscape has helped reactivate the street along West Loveland Avenue and Karl Brown Way.
