Challenge: The Ainsley residential project by Drees Homes introduces an upscale neighborhood of 18 single-family homes on a tranquil cul-de-sac street. During construction, the contractor was concerned about a shortage of dirt. MSP was contacted to assess the situation.

Solution: MSP quickly mobilized Reality Capture services to the Ainsley residential site within 48 hours. Using drones and ground control points, they conducted three hours of on-site data collection, delivering a detailed “heat map” and topsoil volume analysis to the client and contractor within a day.

Outcome: MSP identified a deficit of 2,400 cubic yards of clay and an excess of 2,700 cubic yards of topsoil at the Ainsley residential site. Their project engineer promptly designed an expansion for the stormwater management pond, providing updated construction drawings in just three business days. This efficient solution, facilitated by Reality Capture services, ensured timely progress for the Ainsley residential development.
