Meet the Associate: Louis Hanser II, PS
The MSP Associate Program has been created for the purpose of identifying leadership, excellence and performance within our organization and to reward individuals whose performance excels in areas deemed vital to our continued successful operation. The Associate Program is designed to broaden selected individuals’ understanding of and contribution to the success of MSP and to reward those selected for their contributions to that end. The Associate Program recognizes leadership potential as well as individual achievements; however, the optimal environment within MSP remains one of teamwork and collaboration amongst all departments.
Associate Program includes Andrea Fullbeck Andrew Dodds, Bryan Grome, Emily Lubbers, and Louis Hanser II.
When did you come to MSP?
What is your role at MSP and what are your job responsibilities?
Management of the Record Plat Department and Building Permit Department, and I also help mentor younger surveyors.
How long have you worked within this industry?
What does being an associate mean to you?
For me it means that I must be doing something right, I have held more than a few titles in my career, but having ownership recognize my abilities is more important than the title.
What is your favorite part about your job?
Mentoring would be my favorite part, I have a very deep knowledge base that I am hopefully able to pass on some of it to the next generation.
During your time at MSP, what has been the coolest project you’ve worked on so far?
While Harvest Meadows presented its fair share of challenges, I found it to be a new learning experience.
Tell us something most people would be surprised to learn about you?
Not a big surprise for those who know me, but for those who don’t, I run a catering business and I like to bake.
What is something that you enjoy doing outside of work?
Oh, you mean there’s life outside MSP? Well, when I’m not here, I enjoy catering small festivals and events around town.
How has your career grown since starting at MSP?
Project Manager, Manager of Production Services, Surveying, and now Associate.
What makes you proud to work at MSP?
The folks I work with every day, and their commitment and dedication to excellence are what make me proud to be part of the team.
