Design Challenge: MSP worked closely with the Park District to develop a master plan for this additional property that was incorporated into Bill Yeck Park. The planning process involved a needs assessment and multiple public input sessions with park staff and interested stakeholders, including family members of the original property owners.

Design Outcome: Based on input, the master plan includes educational spaces that showcase a range of sustainable elements, such as minimizing site impact, reuse of existing facilities,stormwater best management practices (rain gardens, bio-swales, etc.), demonstration gardens, pervious pavement and non-invasive native plantings. The first phase has been completed and features parking areas with pervious pavement, rain gardens/stormwater BMPs and wetland areas for water quality and retention
