Sheakley Center for Youth Wins AHF Reader’s Choice Award
The Sheakley Center For Youth recently won the AHF (Affordable Housing Finance) Reader’s Choice Award in the Special Needs category. This award recognizes the transformation of a former vacant four-story factory into a vital facility that now offers housing and social services to homeless youth. The adaptive reuse project was a collaboration between MSP , The Model Group, and Lighthouse Youth & Family Services. MSP provided essential architectural services, contributing to the successful repurposing of the building. This redevelopment not only revitalizes the space but also significantly impacts the community by supporting vulnerable young individuals in need. The Sheakley Center for Youth project stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design in addressing critical social issues.
