Design Challenge: The design challenges included creating a Bauhaus building style reflecting the company’s origins with heavy input from its German owners, positioning the building on land with steep terrain, and the addition of a 200 ft. bridge to allow remote parking near its other facility.
Design Outcome: The steel frame building features clean lines, thin floor to floor composition, no rooftop units, and utilized white metal panels and ribbon windows to create a striking design composition. Many sustainable design principles were incorporated. It also included a VRF mechanical system. The final building design allowed for the employees to have a connection with nature by using the scenic pathway. Several electric charging stations and covered parking for motorcyles were added to the final design. This design also allows for future expansions.
