Overview

Project managers (PMs) are responsible for all aspects of planning and execution for multiple projects and must be comfortable working independently while directing the efforts of assigned support staff. MSP is a general architecture practice with a focus on collaboration and teamwork. As such, our PMs regularly work on a wide range of building types and are required to lead project development across all design phases.

General Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree or higher in architecture from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in architecture post graduation
  • Professional licensure in architecture is preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates seeking or qualified to obtain professional licensure
  • Proven success leading multi-disciplinary project teams on a wide variety of building types
  • Working knowledge of Revit in the production of construction drawings is a must
  • Ability to use AutoCAD and Sketchup is a plus
  • Proficient in Technical Specification Writing required
  • Experience with all aspects of Construction Administration, including construction observation (jobsite walk-through), pay app review, preparation of change orders, conducting and attending job-site meetings, and project close-out

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee or perform all aspects of design and production for assigned projects
  • Organize and direct project teams, both internal staff and external consultants, to execute design work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner
  • Manage day-to-day project efforts to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Maintain primary billing responsibility for assigned projects to ensure accurate and timely invoicing, including follow-up of past due accounts
  • Prepare contracts, work orders, and other project documents for assigned projects
  • Develop, manage, and maintain accurate project budgets, work plans and production schedules
  • Produce or oversee production of technical specifications
  • Regularly update relevant project information in internal databases
  • Maintain open and effective contact with clients through the project life cycle
  • Assist in the development of project proposals, qualifications submissions, and other assigned marketing tasks
  • Assist in the professional development of junior staff through effective mentorship, work support, and constructive feedback
