Design Challenge: Challenges included maximizing the new facility’s visibility off of adjacent Reed Hartman Highway, creating name recognition for the company in the area, and designing the facility to respond to the existing site.

Design Outcome: The project utilizes the economically viable and sustainable solution of architectural precast concrete. The data center, designed for optimal security, also utilizes a concrete roof deck. The final design allows for the basement of the office building, which contains the canteen and training facilities, to be tucked into the hillside next to the neighboring pond. A track was added around the pond to encourage a connection to the outdoors. MSP worked with developer Duke Realty to provide an initial concept to encourage itelligence to consider Duke Realty’s land location. The final design of the offices help to maintain the German-based company’s brand by being visually consistent with its overseas facilities through use of a European architectural style. This location allowed itelligence functionality, flexibility and the ability to be recognized from a distance.
